There are plenty of alternate versions of fairy tales out there –enough that it takes something special to stand out. Author Corey Rosen Schwartz hit pay dirt with 2012’s The Three Ninja Pigs, and she and co-author Beth Coulton have done it again with Goldi Rocks and the Three Bears. Instead of breaking into the Three Bears’ house, Goldi invades their recording studio and predictable mayhem ensues.
Kids will delight in the familiar elements of the story while being surprised by new twists. Illustrations by Nate Wragg will keep readers turning pages.
For other great versions of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, try Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs by Mo Willems, Goldie and the Three Hares by Margie Palatini and Goldilocks and Just One Bear by Leigh Hodgkinson.
